Sunset Paddle Board Tour with Manatees

Need I say more? I once read that if you want to go on vacation all the time maybe you should build a life that is a vacation. This obviously stuck with me as I enjoy vacationing and fun in the sun. I decided to live a vacation kind of life and you can, too.

On a typical Tuesday, I drove about 15 minutes to meet up with Evan and friends at Travel Country to see manatees while paddle boarding. I already knew what bikini I'd wear...my Lagoa Swimwear because it has a zippered-pocket for my things and for it's superior fit/comfort while doing water sports. We also got to bring our dogs so, I stashed some treats for Foxy in the pocket of my bikini top.

In a previous post, I mentioned the many benefits of paddle boarding. To go paddle boarding with manatees during sunset is even more rewarding. You can see manatees throughout the waterways of Florida. We went to a special spot in the intracoastal waters of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Manatees are gentle, friendly giants.They need space to move and are not allowed to be touched. What's great about paddle boarding where the manatees are is that they will often come up to the board, play and give you an up-close show. Some stuck their nose right up on the board and even pushed Evan's board for a little ride. I got some videos but it was hard to capture them on camera when you are enjoying, watching and living in the moment.

Evan was as nice as can be and very helpful. At one point, the wind and current got too strong for me. He came on his paddle board and saved me! He gave us tips on how to get around on a paddle board and taught us about the area. The Marine Discovery Center collects donations of oyster shells from local businesses to put back in the water. This filters the water and the oysters will regrow. It's a fantastic part of the Lagoon Restoration Project. Another beautiful soul brought her dog and she happened to be someone I sold a bikini to! We had a lot of fun and got some amazing photos in the beautiful sunset while out on the water. What's a vacation without go-pro footage?

Embrace Diversity

It's time to embrace others... and embrace who you are. We are all different so, we shouldn't be expected to wear the same style swimsuits. You should pick out swimwear that makes you happy and comfortable. Strong women support each other and we shouldn't judge each other by what's on the outside. If you got it, flaunt it. If you want to cover something up, go for it. Show off your best asset (and don't say you don't have one because you do!) There are many styles to chose from: bra-tops, triangle tops, tankinis, swim skirts, swim shorts, cheeky, etc. Focus on your concerns, enhance your good qualities and keep a positive body image. Live a Luminous Life
