As stated by fashion designer Rachel Zoe, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak." Jamie, the designer of Holahan Studio, showed the world his creative side by designing the most unique swimwear I've seen in a long time at his Fashion Show in Sarasota this past weekend. Each of the models showed their own personal style as they rocked their Holahan swimsuits down the runway with much success for this up and coming eco-friendly brand, which is made right here in the U.S.A.
If you've ever been in a fashion show or attended one, you know there is a lot more to it than just walking down the runway to show off the new styles. There were no "Divas" at this show, just a bunch of smart, talented and supportive people coming together for a good cause and some fun fashion! Much planning was put into making this charity event a success and it's great to see all of the hard work pay off in the end. I've always been a fan of Holahan Swimwear because it is made of recycled fishing nets that were pulled out of the ocean and it fits phenomenally with great designs. When I was asked to be a part of the show, I was delighted. And as I've mentioned in previous posts, the owners of JP Holahan are really nice so...of course they said Foxy could come and go down the runway, too!
The day before the show we had fittings in the design studio and it was fun. Jamie stayed up late making alterations to assure the suits we wanted to model would fit exactly to our body type and they were spot on. That is talent! His wife, a true beauty inside and out, gave us "swag" bags from her other business i.f. by Roxanne. We couldn't have been more grateful to receive such wonderful surprises and gifts; including her hand-made bags, light up lip gloss and some delightful body care. These were also given to the VIPs at the event!
As we arrived at The Bazaar on Apricot and Lime on the day of the show, it was beautiful day in the courtyard and many businesses were preparing for this amazing charity event. All funds earned from this show were donated to Every Child, Inc. to support children in need. There were also cute and sweet dogs from the Florida English Bulldog Rescue. Jamie prepared the stage, Bloody Marys were being passed out by Mermaid Vodka and the DJ was getting everyone pumped. Back stage, we got our hair done by the beautiful Cortney of Divine Hair Creations. It was also her birthday so, we made it fun! Roxanne gave us all flower hair clips that she made and they looked so gorgeous in our hair. I couldn't be happier with how everything looked on us.
Then, it was show time! What a rush! I was the first to come out with a blue Koi fish print bikini and a sarong (which I took off midway down the runway.) I loved seeing the smiles and hearing the crowd. Foxy did, too. As we took turns showing off each design, we had to quickly change into our next swimsuit in a tent and get back out there to do it again. It was such a delight to see my beautiful friends in their Holahan suits, their confidence and their courage. This type of event can be intimidating- everyone did so well and stayed happy! Only a few suits are shown here so, you will have to stay tuned for the videos and photos as JP Holahan Studio receives media from the show. As you can see, it was very exciting for Holahan to debut it's adorable children's line and men's swimwear. Plus, I have been saying for a few years now that one-pieces are back. The Holahan Studio one-pieces were a highlight of the show. The designs were so unique and flattering. I definitely recommend all of these suits!
After the show, everyone was very complimentary and grateful. It was such a nice experience and honor to work with great people! Everyone pointed out that Foxy was so cute and good. She was also given some yummy treats at a booth by a local company that prepares nutritious food for pets called Pet Wants. We also got to try on some of the Kimonos that were shown on the runway by House of the Broken Dragon. They were so well made and fashionable.
If you are ready to embrace your uniqueness and wear swimwear for a good cause, then be sure to follow Holahan Studio Swimwear for the new collection. It fits great and it's like wearing ART! It's now available for men, children and women. I especially liked the new reversible suit I got to wear, too! Every day is a fashion show and the world is your runway! You got this!
