They said I could be anything...

mermaid, real mermaid, mermaid life, life's better in a bikini, a bikini kinda life, water, fun, sunshine, bikini, mermaid costume, swimwear, inspiration, follow your dreams, jet ski, paddle board, surf, boat, wake board, beach, pool, Florida
Little River Springs, Florida

So, I'm becoming a mermaid (and not just for Halloween!) I decorated the top of this bikini with a plethora of mermaid-type embellishments. I sewed the bottoms from scratch and then sewed a wrap with perfect fabric to represent a mermaid tail. I made it to be functional and simple too so that I could actually wear it. Even though it is fun to get creative and dress up, I was thinking I would love to be a mermaid for real. I will ask you the same question I asked myself, "What is better than selling bikinis?" Survey says...BEING in a bikini! There are many jobs out there that require a bathing suit, travel and water. How much fun would that be? I'd love to hear your advice and ideas in which people can wear their bathing suits and actually enjoy this beautiful planet. Just leave a comment in the section below. I started this blog for swimwear AND inspiration so that is what I'm going to do. Go after your dreams, know your worth and build a life you will love. You can follow me on my journey as I do, too. Everyone says you can be anything you want. I am going to be a real mermaid.

  1. Oops, posted too quickly - forgot to add my Inspiration!
My daughter would love to cruise coral reefs around the world, collecting fish and sea life specimens to study in her capacity as a biological/environmental engineer.

    1. Thank you Kitty! I appreciate your comments and for sharing. That sounds amazing! She is definitely on the right track. I would love to do that too! Tell her to keep up the good work and have fun. ;)

When one of my friends told me he had heard about a company that let's you put a picture of your dog on your swimsuit (and knew it would be right up my alley of course), I went straight to my lap top and began searching for it. It didn't take long as the crowd-funding buzz had started to make it's way around the internet. I found the website and had a look for myself. This fabulous company is from Australia and called Petflair. Am I the only one who goes straight to the "about us" section or do you do that too? It helped me to see that this was a company I wanted to support because not only is it a great story with a unique idea but Petflair donates 25% of it's profits to Pound Paws (a charity for abandoned pets.)

I decided I needed to find out more about the making of swimsuits with our pets. These babies are $99, which is reasonable, especially for a customized suit with your dog! However, I was concerned with their Australian sizing because one of the mos…

Live a Luminous Life

The logo is luminous. The bikinis are luminous. The vibes are luminous. The owner has the most wonderful, positive energy about her and her kindness shines bright. You too can let your light shine with this new, radiant swimwear brand called Luminous Sol.

I'm wearing the Ella top in a blush palm print that reverses to a lovely lilac color. Both are sensational colors on the skin! When you reverse the suit to the lilac side, the strings are still the pink palm print and it looks like heaven together. The fit and feel is excellent with an adjustable lace-up back. One of the things I loved most about it is that there was no padding, which made it look and feel smooth (along with a quick dry-time.) We are going to give away the sliding-triangle Anya top in the above sunset photo to one lucky winner on Instagram so, be sure to follow us, @foxyandpaige and @luminoussolswimwear, to be entered into the drawing.

I just love my bottoms because they are side-tie with a brazilian "scrun…

Warning: This may shock you!

One pieces are back and better than ever. They are naturally flattering and super slimming. The right pattern/design can enhance or downplay areas, while holding everything in. Teenagers, mothers and women of all ages are following the trend. And, you don't even have to be part of the skinny b's club. I’ve seen the Becca one-piece in this photo on all sizes and it looks good! It's also available in black, white and blue. It's a "plunge" that is tastefully see-through with a low back. Some brands cover less (like Billabong, L*Space, Ale and Vitamin A) and some cover more. Wear one with shorts and you'll have a body suit too. What's the harm in trying some on? I bet you'll get many compliments.
